The White Hall church was built in 1872 by Rev. Jim Smith and his four sons.  Land had been donated by Frank Hall, Rev. Smith’s brother-in-law.
The church survived a tornado in the 1940s with minor damage.  Four classrooms were added to the rear of the one-room church in 1949 under the leadership of Rev. Paul Cassels.  Much of the wood for the addition came from the dismantling of the Hal Sales home, which had been bought for $20.  The concrete pillars were donated by Mr. J.W. Garland.  The pulpit and pews were refinished and a new piano bought at that time as well.
Homecoming was held in August each year.
How to Get There:
Head north on Hwy 79 out of Minden.  In Haynesville, turn left on Hwy 2 and go 11.9 miles.  Turn right on Hwy 521.  The church is on the right, 3.9 miles ahead.  The cemetery is on the left.
