 1885
The church was organized in 1885.  Nearby Fillmore Methodist Episcopal Church had closed, and the members of that congregation became founding members of the Haughton church.
The original church structure was used until 1910.  A new church was built that year, and the original church served as the parsonage.  A new parsonage was built in 1949.
Construction of a new church began in late 1947.  The church was soon completed and the first service held on May 16, 1948.  Services were held once a month in those days.
Love Chapel on Hwy. 80 began as a mission of the Haughton church.
How to Get There:
Heading east on I-20 from Shreveport, take exit 33 and head south on Hwy 157 (N. Elm).  After about a mile, turn left onto W. McKinley (Hwy 614).  You’ll have to turn right on N. Maple, which turns left into N. Taylor, which turns left into N. Hazel.  Turn right at a flashing light onto E. McKinley and the church will be on the right just past N. Laurel St.
