Several members … Louis and Ann Hutchinson, Dave and Emma McClinton, Simon McCoy, Ann Riddle, James Berry, and James Johnson … desired to worship somewhere beside the balcony of First Church.  After Louis and Ann Hutchinson donated an acre of land, they built a brush arbor under which to hold services.  The church was organized under the leadership of Rev. Perry Hall in 1875.
The first church was built in 1877 under the leadership of Rev. A. Legardy.  The location of that church was the corner of Fairfield Road and Hutchinson Lane (the current Linwood and Hollywood Avenues).
The current church was built in 1960 under the leadership of Rev. Hubbard Daniel.  In 1965, a lot on the corner of Severine and Rosary Lane was donated to the church by Mrs. Martha Hutchinson McCoy.
How to Get There:
From Hollywood Avenue (in between Hearne Avenue (Hwy 171) and I-49, turn north on Wallace Avenue.  Turn right after 4 blocks onto Hickory Street.  Take the first left (Rosary Lane) and turn right after 2 blocks onto Severine St.  The church will be on the left.
