The Korean United Methodist Church was founded at Rayne Memorial in 1983, with Rev. Han Lee appointed as its pastor.  The Hannah Chapel at Rayne was used as the sanctuary.  Rev. Han Lee was followed by Rev. Chang Lee, who served the church from 1984 to 1998.  The following year (1999), Rev. Duckyun Cha was appointed as pastor.
In 1999, the church began publishing its Korean UMC newsletter.  Bible Study class began in 2000.  In 2002,  a church building committee was formed.  Director Jong Hoon Park also began work in 2002.  The end of 2002 was marked by the church's presiding over a Christmas Musical Service of Korean churches.
In 2003, the church began its own website, www.nokumc.com.
