Third Asbury Church

The Asbury congregation was organized in 1868.  The first services were led by Rev. John Brock under a brush arbor.  During the pastorate of Rev. James M. Bryant (1871-1876) property was purchased on which to build a church.
The church was destroyed by a storm.  A new church was built in 1942 under the leadership of Rev. A.L. Franklin.  The third church was built in the early 1970s under the leadership of Rev. H.J. Rhyan.
The fourth and current church was built in the early 21st century.
How to Get There:
From the Westbank Expressway, head south
until you get to Woodland Dr. (you can see the bridge just ahead).  Turn left and go to Gen. Meyer.  Take a right.  After less than a mile, turn left onto Ernest.  The church will be on the left.
