When the church was organized
in 1863, a name was chosen to reflect the post-Civil War feeling.
The original location was in the Gaars Mill community near Winnfield.
The current church building
was given by Edwin Gaar. It had been the auditorium of the
Gaars Mill School. When the school closed, Mr. Gaar had the building
moved to the current site. |

How to Get There:
Head
to Dodson on Hwy 167 9midway between Jonesboro and Winnfield). Turn
east at the flashing light onto 126 (E. Stovall St.) and go 5 miles.
The church and cemetery are on the right just before Hwy 34. |
