The first services in the area were held by Rev. Martin Hebert under a tent.  Later services were held at the Kaplan School on North Lejeune Avenue.  Land was deeded to the church on April 14, 1916 by the Irving Irrigation Company.   The church was built on that property.  A fellowship hall and education addition were added in 1948.  When the congregation began to outgrow their facilities, Rev J.B. McCann began a building fund in 1961.  C.J. Montgomery, a contractor and member of the church, volunteered his services in early 1982 and work began on a new church in August of that year.  The first service in the new sanctuary was led by Rev. John W. Guyre on July 24, 1983.
