In 1886, a church was built at Voiron (about one mile south of Tigerville on Hwy 1).  The pastor of that first church was Rev. J.M. Bryant.
In 1927, Rev. L.A. Williams and his brother Angelin Williams requested land in Tigerville (present-day Belle Rose).  Property was purchased from Clarence J. Savoie for $2.  The church structure was moved to the new location the following year (1928) under the leadership of Rev. R. Jones.
The present church was built in 1964.  The Rev. W.C. August was the builder of the structure.  The lay leader at the time of construction was Everette Levy, Sr..  They were led by the pastor, Rev. Walter Barabin, who had been serving the church since 1957.

How to Get There:
Head south on Hwy 1 from Donaldsonville.  When you get to the Belle Rose, turn right at the Post Office.  This street just past the post office is Belle Rose Lane (Hwy 998).  The church is one the right, 1/3 mile down the road.
